Director of Technology

I debated on writing this post for quite a few weeks, as it went against my husband's wishes. You see, Andy is a very humble man, and he does not like any attention directed towards him. However, after thinking about what purpose this blog serves and my audience (mainly family - HI Mom and Dad!), I decided that I needed to document his latest achievement. Not only to show how proud I am of him, but to capture an important memory in our family's timeline. I wanted to document this feeling, this sense of accomplishment, so that I could repurpose it in my yearly photo album that I make at the end of every year.

So there, Andy. There's my apology. I hope I'm not grounded from our home computer for the next 2 weeks!

Andy has been named the new Director of Technology of the entire Noblesville School district!

......and I don't think it's possible for me to be any more proud of him!

Back in 2006, Andy set out to finish his Master's Degree in Instructional Systems Technology. He did this all while working full time as a teacher as well as coaching football in the fall as well as coaching track in the spring, in addition to becoming a new father to our baby girl Emma.......and not to mention being a husband to a somewhat demanding wife. Then, a few years later he earned his state certification in school administration so that he could hold the administrative positions like the one he currently holds, as a VP (Vice Principal).

His sole purpose for going back to school to get his Master's Degree was so that he could be a Director of Technology someday. But that always seemed like such a far-reaching North Star. I mean, these positions - especially during these tough times - don't come around very often. Particularly for a well-established, highly sought-after school program in Hamilton County.

But Andy has some qualities that not everybody has.

Determination.
Drive.
Motivation.

Things just don't get handed to Andy. He has to work for them. He knew he had to work for this Director of Technology position. He knew there was going to be a lot of competition, interviewing for this job. So he went above and beyond to prove himself worthy. He created a multitude of online tools show casing his past achievements in the technology field. He presented his thoughts and ideas on what he envisioned for the future of his school system. He didn't just show up, hand a resume to a panel of interviewers and answer questions. He proved that he has the motivation, the determination to lead a huge school system in the right direction.

So I couldn't let this huge event in our family's lives pass by without documenting it on our site. I am over-the-moon excited for the new adventure that awaits him. Congratulations, Boo. Nobody deserves it more than you!

Strike A Pose

While organizing my photos the other day, I noticed a common theme starting to occur in Emma's pictures...

Easter 2012

Well, another Easter has come and gone.  How the heck does time go by so fast?!?  I feel like we just got back from our Disney vacation, which was during Christmas break....

But here we are, mid-April.

Spring Break has come and gone.

He has Risen.

And I am still kickin' it!

With our crazy lives (and by crazy, I mean CRAY-CRAY), we weren't able to make it to the mall to visit the Easter Bunny.  Which makes me so sad, because I won't be able to fill my 2012 Easter frame with a pic of the kids.  Maybe I'll just do a stick-figure drawing, to remind me of our crazy year.....hmmmmm....

Ready for her school's Easter Party!

He is now at the stage where I can't get a serious picture out of him. It's either:
A) Silly Face
B) Arm extended like he's getting you with a sword
C) Tongue sticking out

Concentrating ever so hard! Total opposite of Drewbie, who just throws them in the dye. He broke about 3 before Emma, I mean Mom, cut him off.

Proving you're never too old to decorate Easter eggs!

The baskets on Easter morning.

Showing Drew his loot.

I love bedhead!

Of course we did Easter nails!.....isn't that what it's all about?!?

And naturally, the hunt was a competition for Emma.
She won.
Drew could care less.
He was busy eating his "POOPEE eggs."

Sharing a moment with my Missy Lucille.
Hey, it's hard work being Drewbie!
My beauty.
Love her more than words can describe.
