Emma's First Day of 1st Grade

It's official.  Emma's in a "grade" now.  And she couldn't be more excited!  Being a First Grader means:

  • You get our own desk
  • You get to organize your supplies in said desk. [Which is awesome if you're a super-organized, type-A personality.  Also known as Emma Lucille Swickheimer.]
  • You get homework. [Also super-exciting if you're Emma Lucille Swickheimer.]
  • You learn how to read and write full sentences.
  • You stop picking your boogers and bootie.  [okay, okay......this may be my secret objective for 1st grade]

It's amazing how your heart can literally be placed outside of your body and onto these little beings.
My babies.
My life.
My world.

Indiana State Fair

We visited the State Fair last week, taking advantage of the $15 unlimited ride price at Midway.  Because let's face it........although the sheep, tractors, and the World's Biggest Bore are great, the REAL reason a [city] kid goes to the fair is for the rides!

And ride the rides, we did!  We all know Emma has no fear.......and it looks like Drewbie-Doo is following right along in her footsteps.  He went on every ride he could for his height, surprising us at some of the "scary" rides that he insisted on doing.

Crazy faces on the bus ride to the fair!

Emma's up there.
Alone.
Because, please.........she's waaaaaaaaay too old to be having her mom tag along!

These rides make me queasy, just watching them.
But there is no greater joy, than watching your babies shreeeek in joy, as they are having the time of their lives.

Love them.
My life.

The only real "little kid" ride they rode.

Drewbie is such an animal lover. Loving anything with 4 legs and fur, he wanted kiss these things.

Snow cone / ice cream treat!

Atop the Ferris Wheel.

View from the Ferris Wheel.

Love them more than life.
My babies.

The Shady Pooper

Ahh, boys.  Boys will be boys.  They are one big lovable pile of mud, dirt, and poop.

Wait, what?!!!????

Drew has done it again, folks.

He has pooped behind the bushes in our front yard.

What. Is. The. Deal?

For you moms out there with boys: is this normal?  Why does Drew insist on dropping a deuce in our yard?  I mean, how much effort does it take to run inside, sit on the john, and do your business the normal way?
