Breakfast With the Grinch

With our Girl Scout troop, we had Breakfast With the Grinch back in December. We feasted on [what else?] some green eggs and ham, watched a Dr. Suess movie, did some Christmas crafts, and of course, got pictures taken with the Grinch himself.

Emma's "Glasses"

Remember when you were a kid, when you thought glasses and braces were sooooo cool? I can totally remember putting little rubber bands in my teeth, making it feel like I was wearing a retainer. And I can also remember going to Claire's when I was in the 4th grade, to get some brown tortoise-shell glasses. I wore them for like, a month, telling all my classmates and my teacher that they were the real deal.

So when Emma begged and begged and begged for some "nerd" glasses, I could totally relate.

Buddy the Elf, Part 5

This was the fifth Christmas now, that Buddy the Elf has been a part of our family.

READ: The fifth Christmas that I've had to come up with clever scenarios to put him in.

Ugh.

As much as I love The Elf on the Shelf - and I do - I've kinda lost my mojo in coming up with funny places/things to do with him. And I only have myself to blame, here. I mean, how can you top setting up a zip-line across your family room?!?

So, suffice it to say, Buddy didn't get too crazy this past year. He hung out on top of chandeliers or in stockings this year. Nothing too crazy!

Wreath-Making Fool

So I got in a bit of a wreath-making frenzy this past holiday season. It all started with a sale at Michael's on their deco mesh....and the rest, as they say, is history...

Thanksgiving 2014

45 Turkey Lollipops made by yours truly. Yes, I'm crazy.

But I mean. How darling are these!?!?

Love these two to the moon and back

And this one. Has my heart.
Thankful banner I made

Who said Dollar Store decor looks cheap?!?

Emma's First Reconciliation

Emma celebrated her First Reconciliation back in November. In talking with some other moms, there were many kids who were extremely nervous about this. But Emma never seemed to be. She's always uber-excited to be celebrating anything, so this was just another event for her. Another event to get dressed up and be with her friends!

She wrote a Thank You letter to Father John. It reads: "Dear Father John, thank you for getting me clocer [closer] to God and telling me the right choised [choices] to do and what not to do. I wold [would] like to say a few words about you. You are funny, kind, careing [caring] and nice. I wold [would] like to say thank you so so so so so much for trashing my sins and letting me try not to make new ones. Love, Emma Swickheimer"

*tear*

Turkey in Disguise: Skylander

The ever-cute "Turkey in Disguise" project came home with Drew last November (yeah, yeah...I know. THREE months ago.) Remember Emma's? She decided to decorate hers as a SPX Cheerleader.

Drew's choice? A Skylander, of course. Wash Buckler, to be exact.

And it quite surprised me how "into it" he got. Usually, he's not one for coloring. But he really got into this project. And he was just so proud of it!

So proud of his design!

The finished product!
