It's Cookie Time!

It's that time of the year again........Girl Scout Cookie time!  Time for some yummy Thin Mints; some scrumptious Tagalogs; some delicious Samoas.

I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

Emma is excited to be selling cookies again this year.  So excited, that we may even hit up our neighbors.

Maybe.

Depends if Daddy will take her around the hood.  Cause Mommy's not doing it!

Snowpocalypse 2014

We were hit with 11.5" of snow and sub-zero temperatures (we're talking -20 degrees BELOW zero) this week.  Which left us cooped up inside the house for 3 days.

THREE FREAKIN' DAYS.

You know how much that sucks?  You know how much that sucks with 2 busy, active kids?!?

It sucks big, yellow bananas.

So what did we do to occupy our time?  Well, I wish I could be one of those super-parents, who had all these fun activities and family games lined up.  But let's get real.  The kids spent the majority of their time on the iPad and computer.  Playing Plants vs. Zombies or watching YouTube videos, or playing QuizUp.

Before being holed up in the house, we did stop by the grocery store for our usual weekly groceries.  Turns out, we were late for the game, because all the crazies had come and stocked up on all the bread, eggs, bacon, and beans.  I mean, who ARE these people? What world do we live in, where we have to stock up like the end of the world is coming?!?  I mean seriously.  We were hit with snow and ice, but I mean, come on!!!  The worst it gets is a few days without roaming out of the house.  What in the world do people do with all that bread?

A Few of My Favorite Things, revisited

I think I made a list a couple of years ago, where I made a list of a few of my favorite things.  With another year gone by, I thought I'd re-visit that, listing out a few things that I just can't live without.

So here goes.

1. Turbo Jam.  This year I discovered my new workout soul mate.  Turbo Jam.  It's an intense cardio workout.....a choreographed kickboxing class that's simply amazing.

2.  Jimmy Johns.  Man, I love me some Jimmy Johns.  Specifically: Plain Slim #1 with Thinny Chips.

3.  Plants vs. Zombies.  This has become my new addiction.  I can't put this game down, once I start playing it.  I've been known to stay up until 1:00 in the morning, trying to defeat those freaking zombies.

4.  Naps

5.  My minivan.  After 2 years with the Pilot (which I despised!), I finally got my minivan back.  And man, do I love my Odyssey!

6.  Indianapolis Colts.  Just when I didn't think I could love my team  any more, something like this happens, and well......I fell in love all over again.

7.  Leg Warmers with Boots.  This is more of a trend that I jumped on this past fall.  I pretty much rock this look at least twice a week.

Snow Much Fun!

One of the things that we (and by "we," I mean the kids and Andy) enjoy most about winter is sledding at The Big Hill at Ft. Ben.  And this year was no different.  We bundled up and headed out to hit the hill.

I lasted about 20 minutes.  Enough to go down the hill twice.

Then I headed back to the car and watched the kids and Andy enjoy the cold from my nice and toasty warm car.
