Me and My Crew

So, you ask: what have I been up to, after taking over a month off from blogging?!?

Well, I can sum it up with one picture:

My kids.

I'm doing exactly what I set out to do about a year ago.

Spend more time with them.  

Hang out on the swingset.  Ride bikes.  Look for rollie-pollies.  Practice spelling words.  Pick them up from school. 

Be a part of their lives.

Sunday Mornings

Andy did NOT want me to take his picture here.  In fact, I think his exact words were "Chris, I mean seriously.  Put the camera down."

But NO, I am not going to, and NO I didn't.  I wanted to capture this [seemingly] mundane moment in our lives.  Because I know that in just a few short years, we'll want this moment back.  We'll want our little Drewbie sitting on our laps, interrupting our paper-reading, interrupting our coffee-drinking.  Because when Drew is off to practices or friend's houses or what ever it is he'll be doing in the future, we'll want our little baby boy back in our laps.  

Smiling up with that little dimple on his right cheek, saying "I love you Mommy.  I love you Daddy.  Can I sit in your lap?"

My Organized Little Lady

As if I ever had any doubt that Emma was super-organized, I couldn't help but take a peak at her desk during "Back-to-School" night.  And low-and-behold, she did not disappoint.  She has everything nice and neatly packed away in her desk here.  In fact, she even told me that the white trash bag bugs her.....it messes up the whole look!  But they have to keep it to put their jackets and backpacks in for sanitary reasons.
